Recipe: Green Glow Smoothie

The green glow smoothie in a glass

A refreshing and tropical green smoothie that’s creamy, thick and satisfying.

Packed with antioxidants, high quality carbohydrates, macro and micro nutrients. A real powerhouse to refuel after a training session or start your day off right!

 

Serves 1

Total time: 10 minutes

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen mango (or pineapple)
  • 1/2 cup frozen zucchini
  • 1cm piece fresh ginger
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 tsp organic lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed meal
  • 1/2 cup coconut water or nut milk
  • 1-2 tbsp plant based vanilla protein powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp greens powder (optional)
  • Toppings of your choice

 

Method:

1. Roughly chop banana, mango and zucchini and add to blender.

2. Add rest of ingredients and blend until super smooth and creamy. You may have to stop to scrape down the edges.

3. Spoon into a bowl and add your favourite toppings.

Notes: Zucchini can be frozen raw, or steamed first for easier digestion if you find raw zucchini hard to digest
