Jack’s reason: From recovery rollercoaster to run

Jack with St John Ambulance Paramedics

We have some incredible stories to share with you this year and with them come courageous and special reasons for running.

Meet Jack, he’s running the Specsavers 12km for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia – after being told he may never walk again.

Following a motorbike accident in Esperance, Jack was paralysed from the hips down.

It’s been a recovery-rollercoaster that has left him feeling incredibly grateful – and eager to raise funds for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia by running in this year’s HBF Run for a Reason.

“I think it's an opportunity for everybody to appreciate life and get fit. And I think I'll be running with the biggest smile on my face”.

Huge thank you to St John for allowing us to reuse their incredible footage from Jack’s accident and beyond. You do incredible work – which can be supported here.
