In 2008, Alison Braun experienced an extra-ordinary weight loss transformation, broadcast before the nation on The Biggest Loser. She embarked on a journey of self-discovery that resulted in not only weight loss, but insight into how she was living her life.
Six months after becoming the runner-up on the television show, Alison tragically lost her husband, when he took his own life.
“The reason I run is for my late husband and father of my three beautiful children who we lost to suicide 10 years ago,” says Alison.
This year, Alison is raising awareness for suicide prevention as a Lifeline WA Ambassador, urging others to make Lifeline their reason too.
“This year I am taking part in HBF Run for a Reason to get back into fitness and raise awareness of suicide prevention and Lifeline WA in the lead up to the 10-year anniversary of my husband’s passing.
“You can join us too. Fundraise and help us continue to make a difference in the lives of more than 44,000 Western Australians who use our crisis support services each year,”
